Toowoomba Hospital Redevelopment

The Toowoomba Hospital is operating at capacity in a number of areas and the hospital currently faces long emergency department waiting times and overcrowding. Forecast demand, driven by a growing and ageing population and high levels of chronic disease, is expected to place further pressure on the hospital.

Building Queensland is leading the development of a detailed business case investigating a staged relocation of healthcare services to the Ballie Henderson Hospital site in Cranley Street which is 6.5 kilometres north of the existing hospital. The detailed business case is being developed in partnership with Queensland Health and the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service.
