Rookwood Weir Business Case Now Available

Building Queensland has today released the Lower Fitzroy River Infrastructure Project Detailed Business Case, also known as Rookwood Weir.
The project presents an opportunity to supplement urban water supplies and also enhance agricultural and industrial development in the Fitzroy Basin and Gladstone region; once commitment of potential users is confirmed.
With funding of $130 million committed by the Australian Government towards the construction of the Rookwood Weir (subject to the findings of the detailed business case), the Queensland Government has requested Building Queensland make the business case publicly available.
Commercial-in-confidence information has been removed to protect confidential information of project stakeholders, and the Queensland Government’s commercial position during future project stages.
